This April, we asked our young members to be
Savings Sleuths and "Solve the Mystery" in
celebration of National Credit Union Week and
National Financial Literacy Months.
Credit Union “Youth Week”
Each year during the April school vacation
break, NCFCU celebrates “Youth Week”. Beginning
in 2004, the credit union has held this yearly
celebration completely free to the public. The
annual celebration is packed with fun and
excitement geared towards making saving easy and
fun for the children.
They participate in
making crafts and planting seeds to watch them
grow like their savings. Each child receives a
favor bag and everyone who attends is eligible
to win the many prizes given away at the
conclusion of the event.
Visa and the National Football League
have teamed up to help teach financial
concepts with Financial Football, a
fast-paced, interactive game that
engages students while teaching them
money management skills. Teams compete
by answering financial questions to earn
yardage and score touchdowns.
Financial Soccer is a fast-paced,
multiple-choice question game, testing
players’ knowledge of financial
management skills as they advance down
field, and try to score goals. Educators
are encouraged to review and download
the lesson modules, at right, before
actual game play. If you’re already
warmed up and ready to play, click the
button above to begin.
